Grand Rounds and the Cav are Hot Off the Press
The latest issue of Grand Rounds is up at Science Roll. A post I found interesting was from Bob Coffield at the Health Care Law Blog about the pilot project between Google and the Cleveland Clinic.
Also, check out the latest Cavalcade of Risk put up by the wise wench. That is where I noticed a good article from John Cogan of Regulating Health Insurance. Back in ‘06, when the Colorado Health Insurance Insider was still on blogspot, I wrote an article about “children” being allowed to stay on their parents individual health insurance until they turn 30. John’s article talks about some states allowing dependents to do this on employer-based health insurance policies, and the tax implications of doing so:
Whether you are in favor of these coverage mandates or not, there’s one hitch to such laws that isn’t often mentioned: the tax consequences for parents keeping their twentysomething children on the family’s employer-based health insurance coverage.
