We do need a national discussion on Long Term Care, just not right now. Maybe, next year. Long Term Care is the sleeping monstor, the next great crisis to rear its head; and probably soon. THowever, the biggest problem with approaching the national need for LTC may be the enormity of the problem. For now, in a time of "bail-out" fatigue and a possible $1.6 Trillion price-tag on helath care reform, the nation needs to concentrate on the most immeidate task, health care reform. If we even peek under the covers of the LTC problem, Americans might throw up their hands and say it's too much, we can't handle it, just get me another beer!
